Josh Arnold Art Review

The childlike beauty of Josh Arnold’s 2018 Side Show exhibit brought me and everyone who looked at it back to our roots.

A sculpture the size of a child was positioned on a small bed, a homemade quilt (each quilt square complete with a sewn-in photos dear to the artist) draped over his head to hide the book he was reading by lamplight. Aptly, the book the sculpture is holding in his lap is titled “Do Something Remarkable.” Placed on the bed next to the child, Arnold beautifully outlines his story of finding and accepting himself, meeting his loving husband, and encourages onlookers to be unafraid to be themselves. The heartwarming tale coupled with the endearing sculpture spoke of dreams coming true and having the courage to “do something remarkable” and make them come true.

It was an honor to see such an uplifting and lovely message portrayed before me and I praise Arnold for his true work of art.
