The Six-Legged Tarot Art Review
Interweaving amazingly detailed insects into vividly decorated tarot cards, The Six-Legged Tarot is a project that can be appreciated even by this squeamish entomophobe. Christina Lewis’ depiction of these little creepy crawlers on immaculate nature scapes is a testament to her skill.
Her ability to catch a cricket jumping midair in “The Fool” or the bug balancing so delicately on fragile bubbles on the water’s surface in “The High Priestess” will leave you in awe.
In addition, she aptly matches each insect to an appropriate card. The queen bee represents “The Empress” and the insect seen in “The Chariot” is the tiger beetle, the fastest insect in the world according to Lewis.
The Six-Legged Tarot is charming and exquisite.
